This past week, we had several swimmers and one diver compete in the O.H.S.A.A. State Swimming and Diving Championships in Canton, OH.
Last Wednesday, Mara Kinsey competed in the Diving Championships and finished in 19th place. Going into the meet, she was seeded 22 so she was able to move up 3 spots during the meet.
In the Swimming Championship, we had one girls relay and two individuals qualify for the Final on Friday. The 200 Medley Relay consisting of Camille Cleaver, Rose Mlakar, Maja Miedza, and Kate Dannemiller finished in 15th place with a time of 1:52.07.
In individual races, Colin MacMillan finished in 3rd place in the 100 Butterfly (50.19) and in 8th place in the 50 Freestyle (21.29). Maja Miedza finished in 3rd place in the 50 Freestyle (23.86) and 8th in the 100 Freestyle (53.88). Both MacMillan and Miedza broke school records in the prelims on Thursday, MacMillan in the 100 Butterfly (50.12) and Miedza in the 50 (23.59) and 100 Freestyle (52.24).
