Third Annual Bay High School Swim/Dive Team Swim-a-thon
December 29, 2017
Welcome to our third annual swim-a-thon! This year the Bay High School Swimming/Diving Teams are supporting NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) Ending the Silence – a program that helps middle and high schoolers understand mental illness and how to identify the warning signs for themselves and their friends.
Approximately 20% of youth ages 13-18 experience mental illness in any given year. About 50% of all mental illness begins by age 14 and 75% by age 24. All too often, those in need of help stay silent. However, numerous resources and effective treatments are available if we can end the silence. NAMI Ending the Silence provides real faces, real-life stories and a rare opportunity to ask questions about mental illness that are too often surrounded by silence.
Thank you for your support to help us End the Silence.
