This past weekend, Bay Village Sailing WON the 4-person High School Sailing Regional Qualifier in Culver, Indiana and will now compete for the National Championship in Saint Petersburg, Florida December 14-15. Led by sophomore skipper Jack Vanderhorst, the crew of sophomores Ellen Petrigan and Jonathan Mack and junior Robbie Mansuetto successfully out sailed well-established teams from Chicago, Cincinnati, Detroit and beyond.
Last week at the 2-person Regional Qualifier in Pontiac, Michigan, sophomores Jack Vanderhorst and Ellen Petrigan earned a berth in the National Great Oaks Championship in New Orleans in late November.
The Bay Village Sailing team began just over one year ago and has quickly become a regional and national contender.
