Meet Recap

With Seniors Sam Coe and Danny Desmond leading the way, the Bay Men’s Cross Country
team remains undefeated in the three years of the Great Lakes Conference. Sam and Danny took the lead after the 800 meter mark, running side by side for the next two miles. Mr. Coe pulled ahead while they disappeared into the woods, emerging on the other end with a small lead, which he extended to clinch his first Cross Country victory in 16:50.4. Danny finished second, running a time of 17:00.8. Sophomore Khaled Hamil, ran a fine race to take 4th place in 17:06.1. After spending a little too much energy going out for the lead in the first 600 meters, freshman Jude Ault regrouped and really helped the Rockets, getting back in 5th place at 17:25.3. Alex Semancik finished the scoring with his time of
17:37.4, good for 8th place. Sophomore Trevor Ifft, had a major breakout race into the varsity ranks with his 9th place time of 17:40.1. Junior Everest McKenna ran 17:45.3 for eleventh.
Many of the “second 7” ran as good as most varsity teams in Division 2. In the race of 129
individuals, Freshman Will Warren finished 13th in a fine time of 17:52.1,Sam Warren 15th, Sam Diamond 17th, Darren Vesely 18th, Sean Gulley 21st, Collen Kelley 22nd, and
Kenzie Deibel in 28th. This group would have scored about 84 points and taken third place as a conference team.
Further evidence of how deep this fine young team is was turned in a by a group of four
freshman; Logan Yessayan 19:12, Ezra Fleeman 19:12.3, Jacob Feicks 19:14 and David Banks 19:41.
Next Saturday(Sept. 2) the team heads to LCCC to run in the Division 1 race of the Avon Lake Earlybird Invitational

Game Recap

Great night for soccer down in Columbus.
Bay and St Francis slugged it out all night. Back and forth Bay was down 1-0, 15 minutes into the game on the very first shot on goal by St Francis is was a cracker from 20. Bay found itself on the wrong side of a PK 5 minutes later Brent Hull came up big. Bay got right back in the game with a great end line run that found Collin MacMillian on the back post. Ten minutes later Bay was down again off a rebound that was not cleared. We came right back and scored off a set price from Gergye to Cujo. Aka Kyle Cusimano.
The second half had much of the same StFrancis scored 10 minutes in the second half. Bay went right back at them with 12 minutes left in the game Bay got a red card and finished the game with 10 men.
St Francis scored a late goal off a PK with a few minutes left in the game.
No rest for the wicked Bay will be back at it on Monday vs STVSTM. GoRockets.

Meet Recap

The Boys Cross Country Team started off the season on a strong note yesterday by winning the Upper Sandusky Icebreaker Invitational. Pacing the way for the Rockets was Sam Coe (17:09.77) with a 2nd place finish. Other top finishers were:
Jude Ault (9th) – 17:48.52
Everest McKenna (10th) – 17:51.10
Khaled Hamil (11th) – 17:55.16
Trevor Ifft (14th) – 18:11.65
Sam Warren (19th) – 18:33.39
Danny Desmond (20th) – 18:33.84
Alex Semancik (21st) – 18:36.47

The future is now for the Bay High Men’s Cross Country Team. As many of the regular varsity runners struggled, the next generation of Rockets excelled, pulling out a Championship in the Icebreaker Invitational at Upper Sandusky this past Tuesday, Aug 22.
Leading the way, Senior Sam Coe took second in the field of 194 runners. First time Varsity runners freshman Jude Ault, in 9th, and sophomore Trevor Ifft, 14th, were the big difference in securing the narrow victory. Junior Everest McKenna also turned in his highest varsity spot, running as the forth Rocket, finishing 10th. Sophomore Khaled Hamil also scored with an 11th place finish. Collin Kelley 29th, Sean Gulley 37th, Will Burlingame
38th and Logan Yessayan in 44th, all ran nice races, finishing well under 20 minutes.
This Saturday at Cahoon Park the Rockets host the GLC Preview races, starting at 9:45am,
we hope to see you there.
