Game Recap

Can you say COLD. What a night in Bay High School History. This senior class has made 3 of 4 finals. They have a 16 game winning steak not bad. Remember the chant 1-4. Doesn’t feel so bad now. IBay was the 4th seed in the district ember that last month. Thanks for making this such a special year nothing but ????. The Back line played like rockstars. Nortz Graham Humphrey and my boy Hull. Best Keeper in the state all day long. Cade Gergye brought a free kick from Nico down in the box that caused the PK. Bay went up early in the second half. Can anyone say CUJO. 5 minutes later Nico the boy wonder found Noah Beck with a perfect touch to make it Bay 2-0. Bay look like they were going to explode with a point blank shot the was blasted of Aurora keeper, what a save. Gergye came up big a minute later with one off the bar but no luck. A hand ball in the box with 20 minutes to go made the game interesting. Aurora stepped up and finished the PK. Bay held it together the rest of the half to come away with the win. This will be the seniors 3rd trip to the finals in four years. So proud One rocket Nation. We few we happy few. Band Of Brothers.
Thanks BD

Game Recap

Bay wins with a strong finish. Bay outshot Elida 7-0 in the first half and came away with a 1-0 advantage. The goal was a cracker from Evan Taylor with 5 minutes to go.
Early in the half Bay had a goal called back for offsides on a restart that the keeper spilled out and CUJO jumped on. Later in the half MacMillan had a nice header off the bar. The second half was more of the same until a ball clipped in the box on a restart from midfield found the foot of Jack Graham for the goal of the night a blast off his left foot found the back of his own net. Bay struggled to get a hold of the ball for the next 15 minutes. The game was very choppy and finally we found feet on a nice counter attack. Colin MacMillan made up for his early shot off the bar with a technical finish with his left foot that found the back of the net. It got Ugly fast Noah Beck was slipped in with a well timed ball the found Noah just in the box for goal number 3. Not to be out Done Kevin Joyce scorers his second playoff goal with a great touch past the defender and again tucked away neatly like it was his job. The boys scored 5 and won 4-1. The back line stopped another team with over a 100 goals on the season. Jacks Graham Sam Nortz And Big Ben closed the door on Elida while Brent Hull stopped everything Elida had, he just could stop his own team.
Next up State Semi Final. Aurora at Strongesville Wednesday night at 7:00. Bay will be in Blue.
This was the 17 Regional Championship for Bay and 5 out last 6 years.

Game Recap

What a great night to be a Rocket fan. Bay high came out a little flat to start the game and gave up a goal in the first twenty minutes. It was a well earned result for Ontario. Bay responded right away with 4 shots on fram only to have them pushed away.
The second half started with more Bay pressure but due to a lazy tackle Bay gave up a PK with 33 minutes left in the game backs against the wall. Bay responded well scoring 3 goals in 8minutes to take the lead.
Gergye got us on the board with a great header off a Bozak corner followed by a CUJO goal off anothe Bozak Corner. A few minute later Cujo and Gergye found the back of the net with the third goal off a corner in the last 8 minutes.
Bay did not let off the gas with great minutes in the second half by Nico Seiz. The final goal was a perfect pass from Nortz the found Noah Beck on the way to cap off the come back. Next up Elida location and time are still TBA.

Meet Recap

The Bay High School Men’s Cross Country team qualified for the OHSAA State Championship this coming Saturday, November 4th in Hebron. This marks the fourth straight year the Rockets have earned the trip down south. In his finest race, senior Sam Coe again led the team. Mr. Coe ran a outstanding race on the wet and soft Boardman course to earn his first individual state championship qualifying standard. His 18th place(16:42) finish was accomplished with a good start, smart pacing, and a good drive to the finish line. Although not as close to Sam as they usually are, the rest of the team kept the score low enough to beat 14 of the other qualifying teams to finish in fourth place. Freshman Jude Ault turned in a time of 17:04 for 33rd place, with Junior Ivan Slyepkan one second and one place behind. Senior Danny Desmond was another second back in 37th, and will be in his fourth consecutive OHSAA Cross Country Championship. Khaled Hamil finished out the scoring for the Rockets in 48th. Freshman Will Warren ran a very nice race, turning in a 17:29, for some good insurance as the sixth man.
