Girls Track traveled to Wooster’s Nikki Reynolds Invitational Saturday and finished 3rd with 85 points. Top point scorers included Chloe Rickson (38), Lexie Bechtel (21), Kenna Johnston (14), and Norah Hamil (11).
On the track, Rickson dominated the sprints events sweeping the 100m (12.92) and 200m dash (26.77), in addition to winning the long jump (17-6) and anchoring the 2nd place 4×100 relay team (4×100 relay team of Linden Ifft, Carly Elliott, Gigi McQueen, and Rickson). Bechtel hit a new PB in the open 800 finishing 2nd in the event with her time of 2:26.88 and was on the 2nd place 4×800 relay team and 4th place 4×400 team (both relays run by Norah Hamil, Maeve Ransom, Molly Rodgers, and Bechtel). Norah Hamil also added a 6th place finish in the 400m dash finishing in 1:03.36. The 4×200 team of Ifft, Elliott, Ransom, and McQueen finished 6th with their time of 1:53.41.
In the field events, Kenna Johnston topped the field in the shot put winning the event with her best mark of 35-04.75 and added a 5th place finish in the discus with her mark of 106-02. Maeve Milligan cleared 10-6 in the pole vault, good for 3rd place overall.
Other noteworthy performances include big PBs from our 1600m runners where Anneliese Larsen ran 6:02.97 and Olivia Curran ran 6:10.44. Evelyn Ray’s 13:18.95 finish in the 3200m run was also a PB on the season!
Rockets are back on the track Wednesday at Byers Field for the final dual meet of the season versus Normandy High School.
