The Bay Varsity Softball Team staged an epic comeback in the late innings to defeat Clearview 8-7. Michaela Sindelar led the team to victory by going a superb 5 for 5 ( 2 doubles, 2 RBIs) at the plate and notching her 2nd win as the pitcher ( 6 strikeouts). Clutch offensive performances were turned in by Courtney Brewer ( 2 for 4, 2 RBIs, 1 scored run), Halle Dieterich ( 2 for 4 with a game-tying RBI in the 7th), Kenzie Sindelar ( 2 for 5, 1 scored run, 1 stolen base), Meredith Gerity ( 3 scored runs and 2 stolen bases). The stage was set in the bottom of the 8th, down by a run, Tera Rowe, in a stubborn, brilliant at bat, was walked (replaced by pinch runner Meredith Gerity). AJ Wallace executed a perfect bunt to move the runner and reach safely. Kenzie Sindelar then proceeded to reach first on a “hard to handle” bunt, creating a bases-loaded, no-out situation for Michaela Sindelar. After a classic battle with the pitcher, Michaela Sindelar rocked a walk-off double in the left-center gap, plating Meredith Gerity (tying run) and AJ Wallace (winning run). Everyone on the Team contributed to the exciting win.
