Girls track finished their regular season with a 2nd place finish at the Great Lakes Conference Meet with 155 points to Rocky River’s 202 points.

In the relay events, the 4×800 team of Aubrey Crabb, Kendall Sirignano, Abby Coe, and Grace Frey placed 2nd with their time of 10:17.00. The 4×200 team of Chloe Rickson, Ava Ransom, Ellie LaMotte, and Olivia Reed finished 3rd with their PR time of 1:53.13. The 4×100 team of Carly Elliott, Kate Sinnema, Ellie LaMotte, and Makaela Mertic finished 3rd in the event running a PR time of 54.11 seconds. Finally, the girls 4×400 team of London Phillips, Grace Frey, Julia Garber, and Olivia Reed finished 4th in the event running it in 4:25.90.

On the track, Jess Rychel qualified for finals in the 100m hurdles to place 4th in the finals with her time of 18.06 seconds. Both Makaela Mertic and Chloe Rickson qualified for finals in the 100m dash where Mertic finished as GLC runner up in a SB time of 13.40 seconds while Rickson added a 7th place finish running 13.67 seconds (SB). In the 400m dash, Olivia Reed and London Phillips qualified for finals in the event. Reed finished 5th running a time of 1:03.14 and Phillips added a 7th place finish clocking in at 1:06.96. In the 300m hurdles, Jess Rychel and Una Willhoite finish 7th and 8th respectively in the event running times of 55.64 and 56.08 seconds. In the 800m run, Grace Frey finished as conference runner up finishing in 2:29.59 and Abby Coe added a 5th place finish running a time of 2:34.30. In the 200m dash finals, Mertic finishes with a PR time of 27.88 for 3rd place and Rickson finished 5th running it in 28.04 seconds. In the final open event on the track, Meredith Garrity won the 3200m run with her time of 12:50.10 and Katherine Baeppler added a 4th place finish running it in 13:18.92.

In the field events, Olivia Reed finished as conference runner up in the high jump clearing the height of 4 feet, 10 inches and Delaney McDonald finished 5th clearing 4 feet, 6 inches. Maeve Milligan and Mara Kinsey swept the top two spots in the pole vault, and Maeve won the event clearing a new meet record of 10 feet, 9 inches. Kinsey cleared 10 feet for 2nd place. Chloe Rickson won the long jump on her last attempt in the finals with her leap of 17 feet, 4.25 inches and Makaela Mertic tacked on a 5th place finish with her best jump of 15 feet, 4.75 inches. Kenna Johnston finished 5th in the discus and was runner up in the shot put with her best toss of 33 feet, 1.75 inches.

Rockets compete at the District Meet next Wednesday and Friday at Amherst Steele High School. Great work by all!
