Girls Track finished 3rd with 90 points at the third annual, first ever Bay Rocket Invitational on Saturday behind Magnificat (143.5 points) and Revere (90.3 points). The meet was scored through the 800m run and called due to severe weather.
On the track, Makaela Mertic finished 3rd in the 100m dash in 14.01 seconds. Olivia Reed placed 7th in the 400m dash in 1:13.65. Madison Wall was 2nd in the 800m run crossing the finish line in 2:39.88. Kendall Sirignano also finished 8th in the 800m run in 2:53.65. Audrey Goebel and Aubrey Crabb both finished in the top 8 in the 1600m run. Goebel finished 2nd in 5:46.19 and Crabb finished 5th in 5:55.82. In the 100mH, Jess Rychel was 4th with a time of 18.86 and also finished 6th in the 300mH crossing the finish line in 58.85 seconds. Una Willhoite also placed 7th in the 300mH with a time of 1:00.26.
The girls 4×100 relay team of Kate Sinnema, Mara Kinsey, Ellie LaMotte, and Mertic finished 4th in 57.62 seconds. The 4×200 team of Helen Rice, LaMotte, Carly Elliott, and Mertic finished 5th with the time of 2:03.33. The 4×800 team of Crabb, Sirignano, Abby Coe, and Goebel placed 3rd in the event with the time of 10:48.89
In the field events, Reed tied for 4th place in the high jump clearing a height of 4 feet, 6 inches. Delaney McDonald finished tied for 6th also clearing 4 feet, 6 inches. Kinsey finished 2nd in the pole vault clearing a height of 9 feet, 6 inches and Maeve Milligan finished 5th clearing 8 feet, 6 inches. In the long jump, Mertic won the event with a leap if 15 feet, 4 inches and Elliott placed 8th with a jump of 12 feet, 11 inches. Kenna Johnston finished 3rd in the shot put with a throw of 31 feet, 9.25 inches.
The 200m dash, 3200m run, and 4x400m relay were not run due to severe weather.
Rockets take on Parma Senior and Magnificat in a dual meet at home on Wednesday, April 18 at 4:30.
